I’ve always liked taking portraits in my studio and have recently started to do some proper head shots. For these photos I just a used a pocket flash and a v-flat reflector, so it is a very simple setup. I prefer to use clam shell lighting for head shots but I don’t always want to set up my studio just to take a couple of head shots.

Instead I get by with natural light, a v-flat and my pocket flash. I shoot with a prime lens in order to blur out the background which is a window with the blinds down. It creates a nice light background when I time the shoot correctly for around noon at this time a year.

These are my first attempt and I am looking for willing and patient models that will help me get better with this. If you are in the area get in touch!
